Facebook Covid-19 disinformation

The European Commission has reported on the success of its effort to curb disinformation related to the Covid-19 pandemic. This is now being extended to cover information related to vaccinations.

The Commission published a set of reports submitted by the signatories of Code of Practice on Disinformation as part of the COVID-19 monitoring and reporting programme. These are Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Twitter and TikTok.

The Commission has requested these companies to extend and step-up their efforts against disinformation until June 20201.
