New EDUCAUSE Horizon Report published

Blockchain, higher education, OER
Educause 2021 report

The 2021 EDUCAUSE Horizon Report, Teaching and Learning Edition takes stock of the changes that have been brought by the Covid-19 pandemic in higher education. It has to be seen whether these changes, the include widespread use of e-learning, are good or bad and whether they are short-lived or long-term.

As expected the report highlights the rise of e-learning, blended learning, funding issues, less travelling for work and changes in the workforce as major trends. The most important technologies at the moment have been identified and include artificial intelligence, learning analytics, microcredentials and open education resources (OER).

The full report, sponsored by Microsoft, is available for download.

The 3CL Foundation is constantly monitoring digital technologies in education. Check the webinars organised by the foundation on self-sovereignty and blockchain.
