Professor Alex Grech
Alex Grech is a strategist, change consultant and academic, and the founding Director of the 3CL. He has advised multinationals, governments, NGOs and startups in sectors ranging from ICT and neurosciences to culture and education. Alex works extensively in new media, with a focus on lifelong learning and information disorders. He teaches critical, digital and social media studies at the University of Malta within the Faculty of Media & Knowledge Sciences, with research interests in AI literacies, blockchain in education, digital citizenship, social media and power. He holds a PhD in Internet Computing from the University of Hull and is an FCCA by profession.
Professor Godfrey Baldacchino
Godfrey Baldacchino (PhD Warwick) is Professor of Sociology at the University of Malta, Malta. He is a former Canada Research Chair and UNESCO co-Chair (Island Studies) at the University of Prince Edward Island, Canada. He served as Malta’s Ambassador-at-Large for Islands and Small States (2021-24). He is the author or editor of over 50 books and has more than 200 journal articles and book chapters to his credit.
Mr George Borg
George Borg began his career as a primary and special school teacher and later held senior managerial roles in the Education Directorates, including Director General (Educational Services). He holds degrees in Education and Special Educational Needs from the University of Malta and the University of Aberdeen, and has been involved in key reforms for learners with diverse needs, as well as serving on the European Agency for Special Needs and Inclusive Education and the Commonwealth of Learning.
Dr Mark Bugeja
Mark Bugeja is an AI and XR specialist, focusing on computer vision and machine learning. He currently works as a Senior Software Development Manager at the Institute of Tourism Studies. He has taught AI, computer vision, and game AI in higher education and is a published researcher with work in international journals and conferences.
Ms Rosemarie Calleja
Rosemarie Calleja is a lecturer in media at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST), specialising in journalism, media studies, and film analysis. She holds a Master’s degree in Media Management, Film and Media Studies from the University of Stirling, and is a Fulbright scholar with research interests in media representation, digital culture, and the portrayal of journalism in film.
Mr Patrizio Prospero
Patrizio Prospero is a partner at HLB Malta, where he heads the Consulting and International Business Services Division. With an MBA from Henley Business School and full membership in STEP, he specialises in international business, compliance, and emerging technologies, and is an active speaker at global conferences on AML and compliance reporting.
Dr Lucianne Zammit
Lucianne Zammit is a resident academic at the Faculty of Education, University of Malta, specialising in ethics in schools, philosophy for children, digital ethics, and the ethics of AI. She coordinates the Master’s in Teaching and Learning (Ethics) and the PGCE in the Teaching of Ethics in Schools, and serves as Chairperson of the Teaching Ethics in Schools Platform.
