Technology vs Education Matrix webinar

3CL News

An early deliverable of the DEL4ALL project is a Technology vs Education Matrix along with a decentralised and resilient model of lifelong learning.

DEL4ALL aims to coordinate stakeholders and developments across Europe in the sphere of Digital Education, to promote collaboration, best practice, and resilience. The DEL4ALL aims to support the mapping of activities and actors in the landscape of digital education.

The Technology vs Education Matrix is a model to help identify the technologies, learning contexts, actors, and activities that connect technologies to contexts, either in the application, expertise, or interest. This approach offers a flexible means of analysis concerning pedagogical and technological aspects by exploring the relationships between three broad variables:

  1. Particular emerging technologies (such as blockchain, AI, augmented or virtual reality)
  2. Technological features (for instance if these are decentralised, or interactive); and
  3. Different aspects of a learning context (for instance the type of learner/educator/institution, pedagogical framework)

The matrix can be deployed to identify solutions and gaps, as well as best practices and challenges. In particular, by relating the requirements and affordances of technologies and learning contexts, DEL4ALL can also determine where digital education activities may display resilience.

Navigating digital learning during COVID-19 with the DEL4ALL Technology vs Education Matrix

In the short clip below, Dr Allan Third, Research Fellow from The Open University, explains how the DEL4ALL Technology vs Education Matrix can help users navigate digital learning, including the post-pandemic education landscape.

Dr. Third will be anchoring a live webinar on the subject on 18th June 2020 at 11.00 CET. The webinar should be of particular interest to educators and researchers. For more information and to register for the webinar, please click on the link. https://buff.ly/3eKeChH

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 871573.
