Janette is an award winning documentary film director and media literacy consultant who works with a wide variety of organisations including the BBC, small NGOs, schools and a large law training firm. In 2017, Janette launched and led the BBC’s audience-facing media & news literacy programmes for Young Reporter (UK) and Beyond Fake News (BBC World Service in Kenya, Nigeria, India, Brazil, Serbia).

Janette’s work in media literacy is built on the back of a twenty year career as a BBC journalist, with key roles in teams including ‘Reality Check’, Panorama, digital storytelling training the Academy, policy development and BBC Northern Ireland. She is currently developing a piece of education technology targeted to pre-teens to help them build digital literacy skills.
